2009, the adoption of some reduction in purchase tax, Auto Rural areas, trade-in and the economy as a whole other level of encouragement and incentives, the Chinese automobile industry has experienced a wave from the trough to the peak of the magnificent new style continued to rise throughout the year to complete more than 13.6 million vehicle sales. By contrast, vehicle Engine Industry has also completed more than 13 million units and sales of the historical record.

According to statistics, as investment and consumer benefits brought about by the stimulus model emphasis on family car, mini-vans and medium-sized truck, the engine of the market growth in 2009 came from small displacement engines power more .

Policy performance continued to reflect On the vehicle engine, the 1 December 2009, included in the statistical range of 56 motor vehicle companies, total production of engines 13,154,800 units, the cumulative Sell Engine 13,011,500 units, respectively, compared with the same period in 2008, up 47.08%, and 43.85%, the growth rate and overall vehicle production and sales growth similar.

Look on the total production in 2009, production output of more than double by 2006 even more, revealing a significant start consumer demand. However, the cumulative total on the Gap of the second half of 2009 reached the highest in recent years?? The second half of the cumulative production over the first half of nearly 2.02 million units, sales were up nearly 1.78 million gap between the sets, so that the total amount of the second half of the cumulative production and marketing more than 13% of the difference. In addition, the second half of the month up to 6 months of sales are within the engine for more than 1 million units, fully explain the policy stimulus has continued to embody.

From another set of data observations to the number of statistics for 2009 kW engine output and sales volume growth rates of 40.21 percent year on year and 36.52%, respectively, according to the data, the number of statistical units lower 6.87 percent rate and 7.33 percentage points from the market and further illustrates the structure of growth from small displacement engines power more than a large displacement engine.

Specific point of view, at the end of 2009, a total of 56 vehicle engine companies, Chongqing Changan, FAW – Volkswagen, Guangxi Yuchai, Liuzhou Wuling Liu machine, SAIC-GM-Wuling, Beijing Hyundai, Chery, Harbin Dongan Auto Engine, FAW Group, Shanghai GM Powertrain, Dongfeng Nissan, Anhui, all wood, Dongfeng Honda Engine, Guangzhou Automobile and Toyota engines Harbin Dongan Auto Engine, the highest total production of the top 15 ranking.

Difference is that in 2008, due to the overall benefit of small cars, Chongqing Changan replaced over the years, Alliance Chief Guangxi Yuchai engine market, from last year’s third discharged to the first one, and benefiting the other car ranking has improved business. From the total production reached 5 million over the first 45 enterprises (more than 2008 the number of four) can be seen that output more than 100,000 the number of Taiwan enterprises have 38 (more than seven over the previous year home), the annual output of more than 20 million enterprises with 24 (more than the previous year 5), the annual output of more than 30 million enterprises with 20 (compared with more than eight the previous year), annual production of 400 000 11 Taiwan enterprises (more than last year 7). Guangxi Yuchai, following the first two years alone more than annual production of 500,000 units, the 2009 total of seven businesses annual output of this stage station; Chongqing Changan Zeyi 850,000 units of the high yield market in 2009, become the leader of the Executive. Production concentration, the total production of the top 5 companies in the production of concentration 25.34%, this value decreased over the previous year, 0.20 percentage points, compared to 48.60% in 2004 fell by 23.26 percentage points more; the top 12 companies concentration of production was 50.12 percent, compared with 0.87 percentage point decline the previous year. Simple terms, by 2009, five companies of the production scale up to a quarter of the entire industry, the top 12 enterprises producing half the size of the entire industry.

Engineering, Manufacturing & Technical Recruitment
- Market Commentary October 2009

Since our June commentary the employment market in general has shown moderate signs of recovery, with recruitment activity sporadic as businesses cautiously recommence their hiring plans. The “wait and see” approach is beginning to lift. “Cautiously positive”, seems to best describe employer sentiment at present. There have been signs of a recovery in hiring intentions in the engineering, manufacturing and technical sectors, albeit slow. We are waiting for consumer confidence to rebound and for government infrastructure spending to take hold.

Unlike previous recessions, we have not seen massive redundancies of staff. Rather, we believe that our clients have opted to reduce employees work hours as they have realized how difficult it is to attract and retain talent. Companies will hopefully be rewarded for their farsightedness by having an already trained, committed and loyal workforce when the economy fully rebounds.

Consequently, there has not been a huge demand for contract labour to fill the usual gaps. As the economy continues to improve and business confidence rises the return to substantial contract numbers will still lag as full time employees return to normal hours.

Has the tide turned or are there still some bad days at the office ahead? Most pundits seem to believe that it will be another 5 or 6 months before a marked upturn occurs, and this is probably the most likely prediction.

Following are our observations of the key recruitment markets we have been operating in since 1979.

Construction Engineering & Management

Construction activity over the last 3 months has been varied depending on the sector in question. The new building sector has seen one of its largest contractions in memory with only a few commercial developments propping up the activities of a small number of firms.

On a brighter note, civil engineering activity has been more consistent with several ongoing rail, road and water related projects. With commitment from State and Federal governments, there are more of these infrastructure projects with planned commencement dates later this year and into 2010. However despite the positives we have noticed a marked slow-down in recruitment of new professionals within the civil engineering sector. It is evident from speaking with our clients that many civil engineering contractors are deferring major recruitment decisions for the time being, whilst redeploying resources internally and avoiding over committing by waiting for newly awarded contracts to be formally signed off.

We are still inviting applications from Project Engineers, Supervisors and Project Managers with engineering qualifications or training and experience, who are keen to learn about new opportunities. We are also handling some recruitment assignments in Saudi Arabia and candidates with water treatment and sewage plant treatment design and project management are in demand.

Consulting Engineering and Building Services

The September quarter was up and down for the engineering consultancies. In the cases where activity has picked up it has allowed companies to return their staff to full time hours rather than engaging new hires or building new project teams. Other consultancies have found that their larger projects are winding down and there are few large projects on the horizon.

As mentioned last issue there is still demand for Green credentials such as Green star and NABERS qualifications as clients are focusing much of their attention to refurbishment and upgrading of inefficient building systems to meet new environmental standards

Whilst the design phase on many major projects has wound down, the construction phases are now in full swing. There are currently opportunities for experienced HVAC estimators and as always experienced AutoCAD Project drafters with experience in producing shop drawings for the HVAC industry

Automotive Engineering

Greater consumer confidence is reflected in the sales of new motor vehicles. There appears to be a shift in consumer preference towards smaller, lower fuel consumption vehicles. Industry optimism is growing. That said we have not seen a significant upturn in hiring as yet. Companies appear to be redistributing workloads internally. The decline in permanent recruitment has stopped, however permanent placements in the automotive industry are dramatically lower. You only have to look at job boards like Seek to realise how severe this downturn has been (at time of publication of this Market Commentary there were only twelve permanent engineering automotive positions listed in Melbourne).

With an increasingly competitive global automotive market, the next months will no doubt continue to be challenging. Finding suitably skilled candidates will always be a concern for employers; there are pockets of the labour market where skilled candidates continue to be in short supply. Candidates with engineering automotive skill sets are sought after across a variety of industry sectors. We continue to encourage candidates wishing to move out of the automotive industry into sectors like manufacturing or defence, for instance, to highlight their automotive skills, including their project management and analytical problem solving abilities. Once again we are cautioning all automotive candidates to remember that it is important not to define themselves by the industry sector they have come from, but by the skills and competencies they will bring to their next position.

Drafting

The demand for drafters still remains low and is one of the worst affected areas of the downturn. Unfortunately the optimism of the new financial year’s budgets having a knock-on effect for contract drafters has not occurred.

Areas where demands still remain strong are building services, civil, structural and HVAC. Drafters with experience in detailed shop drawings for mechanical services / HVAC are highly sought. The demand in these sectors has been maintained but so has the requirement for demonstrated experience and the transition from other markets like automotive and manufacturing still remains challenging.

Contractors are still offering to be flexible in their hourly rate expectations in order to gain the work.

Electronics / Technology Engineering

We have entered the final quarter of the worst year since the Great Depression with conflicting signals. In the Electronics/ Technology Engineering arena, July was hectic, August was gloomy and September showed some flickering signs of life. Employers are now taking up the slack at present as there are a large body of workers on reduced hours.

Employer expectations are, as seems to be the trend, very specific indeed and their caution before hiring is probably driven by economic uncertainty as well as by the need to ensure that whoever joins the business clearly demonstrates that he or she can add value. The days of “let’s give him/her a go and see how they go” are dead. The risk of a bad fit or poor performer is very costly.

Where there have been scary days in 2009, there are also exciting days too ahead in 2010, and the committed, achieving professional has much to look forward to. One feels particularly for the ranks of unemployed graduates – graduate opportunities are so scarce. What encouragement can we offer, except to stay focused and to not lose heart.

Remember, do not forget that at interview, you will be expected to supply specific details of what you have done, even in University projects.

It’s excellent, I wish I had written it myself. Best of luck.

Manufacturing Professionals

While this sector of the job market has not shown any noticeable upswing over the last few months, it has become very obvious that quite a number of manufacturing companies are showing a very positive outlook for their future prospects. We have recently received enquiries from clients looking for production team leaders (plastics and bio medical experience), production manager and quality manager (food) and an engineering manager (beverage production and bottling).

However, there will likely be no immediate upswing in vacancies over the next few months as most companies have retained staff on reduced hours and will take up the slack in hours before recruiting externally.

As there is every chance of this being a bumper Christmas for retailers, most manufacturers will return to find improved order books and therefore start hiring staff from February onwards, starting from the factory floor and progressing to support staff.

Automotive engine repair and engine replacement are major undertakings that can be very expensive, just like car transmission system repair and replacement. As a vehicle owner you should, therefore, educate yourself on it. To avoid untimely engine repair and engine replacement, you also need to know about engine tune-ups. Your best source of information would be an automotive mechanic in Tampa whom you trust. He should likewise be an expert in auto repair and truck repair as well as auto inspection. Do not rely only on the handyman who does your auto oil change. It would be much better if your automotive mechanic works in a reputable Tampa automotive shop that supplies only genuine car parts like those from AC Delco.

An engine tune up is a routine preventive maintenance service done on the vehicle engine according to the instructions of the engine manufacturer. These instructions can be found in the vehicle’s owner’s manual along with the recommended schedule of frequency for each procedure. This may cover the examination of the ignition system and emission controls; the replacement of certain parts of the ignition system such as the contact breaker, distributor cap or rotor button, if necessary; corrections in the air-fuel mixture, carburettor idle speed and valve; adjustments in the cylinder head bolts; and the replacement of filters and spark plugs. In newer vehicle models, engine tune ups are not needed too often and can be done once in every ten years. They should never be ignored, though.

Even with proper engine tune ups, there are still various factors that can lead to engine breakdown. When this happens, there is often a choice between engine repair or engine replacement. With engine replacement still comes the choice between getting a brand new engine, a used engine or a remanufactured engine.

Engine repair and replacement is recommended by most automotive mechanics in Tampa only if the vehicle is less than ten years old, with a market value exceeding $2,000.00. Otherwise, the expense is not worthwhile and you are better off buying another vehicle.

Of course, engine repair is only possible if your engine is still repairable. Automotive mechanics in Tampa do not recommend repairing engines that have locked up or have been running for over 150,000 miles, making strange noises and burning oil.

For engine replacement, you will spend most if you go for a brand new engine, also called a crate engine. This is almost identical to your original engine or may even be better if the manufacturer has added upgrades to the same model. It comes with a solid warranty and ready for installation.

Less expensive than a brand new engine but not necessarily inferior to it is a remanufactured engine. This means a used engine has been totally overhauled and rebuilt with new components. Remanufactured engines meet and can even exceed the specifications and standards of original equipment manufacturer engines. They also come with solid warranties and ready for installation. Using a remanufactured engine that has been recycled is more ecologically sound and environmentally friendly.

The third option of getting a used engine is not recommended by reputable automotive mechanics in Tampa even if this is the cheapest choice. There is no guarantee that these used engines will last long.

Being diligent about your regular preventive maintenance procedures and engine tune ups will ensure that you will not have to spend for automotive engine repair and engine replacement sooner than necessary. At some point in the life of your vehicle, though, the need for engine repair and engine replacement is inevitable. If you are properly prepared, you can work well with your automotive mechanic in Tampa on this.

Envisioning the Open Road: Automotive Designers Creating the Cars of Today & Tomorrow

By Damian McKnight
Designschools.com Contributing Writer

It can be argued that no design career is sexier than that of the Automotive Designer. Today’s designers embody the styles and culture of today while contouring the style of tomorrow. They utilize product design principles and emerging technology to create commercial, yet innovative, designs for new automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, buses, coaches, and vans. Often working in tandom with a large team of engineers, designers work to ensure that their concepts are appealing to consumers, can actually lead to functioning automobiles, and are environmentally friendly and affordable. Not to mention…..sexy.

History

In the United States, automotive design reached a critical juncture in 1924 when the American national automobile market began reaching saturation. To maintain sales, General Motors pioneer Alfred P. Sloan Jr. suggested annual model-year design changes in the hope that car owners would want to buy a new replacement each year. His strategy succeeded and was later adapted by rest of the industry.

The most celebrated American auto designer is probably Harley Earl, who brought the tailfin and other aeronautical design references to auto design in the 1950s. Earl is joined among legendary auto designers by Gordon Buehrig, responsible for the Auburn 851 and iconic Cord 810 and 812. Another notable designer who had a markedly different style was Chrysler group’s designer Virgil Exner, an early pioneer of Cab forward (a.k.a.Forward look) design in mid-1950s. Exner is also credited with introducing the pointed tail fins in the 1956 Plymouth Belvedere later adapted by all other Detroit studios.

The Work

The tasks of a car design team are usually split into three main aspects: exterior design, interior design, and color and trim design. Graphic design is also an important aspect of automotive design; this is generally shared amongst the design team as the lead designer sees fit. Design focuses not only on the isolated outer shape of automobile parts, but concentrates on the combination of form and function, starting from the vehicle package. Here is a breakdown of the design elements:

Exterior Design: The stylist responsible for the design of the exterior of the vehicle is the one who develops the proportions, shape, and surfaces of the vehicle. Exterior design is first done by a series of digital or manual drawings, and clay (industrial plasticine) models are developed from those drawings. 3 and 5 CNC Milling Machines are utilized in creating the clay model of the final design.Even in modern times with 3d software and virtual models on powerwalls, the clay model is still the most important tool in evaluating the design of a car and therefore used throughout the industry. The data from these models are then used to create a further mockups of the final design.
Interior Design: The stylist responsible for the interior design of the vehicle develops the proportions, shape, placement, and surfaces for the instrument panel, seats, door trim panels, headliner, pillar trims, etc. With the interior, the emphasis is on ergonomics and the ultimate comfort of the passengers. The design process with the interior design of the car is the same as with exterior design (sketch, digital model and clay model). The aesthetic value of the interior will need to correspond to ergonomic functionality and utility features as well. In particular, vehicular electronic components and parts will give more challenges to automotive designers who are required to update designs based on the latest information and knowledge associated with emerging vehicular gadgetry, particularly dashtop mobile devices, like GPS navigation, satellite radio, HD radio, mobile TV, MP3 players, video playback and smartphone interfaces.
Color and Trim Design: The color and trim (or color and materials) designer is responsible for the research, design, and development of all interior and exterior colors and materials used on a vehicle. These include paints, plastics, fabric designs, leather, grains, carpet, headliner, wood trim, and so on. Designers work closely with the exterior and interior designers and draw inspiration from other design disciplines such as: industrial design, fashion, home furnishing, architecture and sometimes product design.
Graphic Design: The design team also develop graphics for items such as: badges, decals, dials, switches, kick or tread strips, liveries. Concept sketching
Clay modeling
Class A surfaces
Scale model creation
Prototype development
Computer-aided design
Computer modeling
Powertrain engineering
Manufacturing process design

The Development Process

Includes the following steps:

Education

Automotive design is practiced by designers who have art backgrounds and degrees in industrial design or transportation design. Careers related to Auto Design include product design, automotive engineering, and electrical engineering. Successful designers need to be creative and should have strong math, drawing, and science skills. They must also have strong skills in computer-aided draftingand communication.

Since Automotive Design is a very competitive field, a high level of academic achievement is beneficial when looking for an entry-level job. Courses such as industrial design, electrical engineering, mathematics, environmental science and computer-aided drafting are often required for designers looking to break into the industry. An automotive engineering degree program can provide simulation training and hands-on experience in the field. An internship or work study program is often a necessary component of many automotive engineering colleges, and this can provide immediate job placement after graduation.

The following schools of higher education are recommended:

Academy of Art University San Francisco, CA
Art Center College of Design Pasadena, CA
The Art Institutes
College for Creative Studies Detroit, MI
Humber College Toronto, Canada
Lawrence Technological University Southfield, MI
Pratt Institute New York, NY
Savannah College of Art and Design Atlanta, GA
University of Cincinnati – School of Design Cincinnati, OH

Outlook

Despite the stagnant growth of the automotive manufacturing industry, careers in automotive design is still projected to grow as fast as the average for all occupations through 2014. There is still a high demand for skilled engineers who specialize in technology and computer-aided processes and a focus on an increasing fuel-efficient economy offer valuable opportunities for a successful automotive engineering career.

The National Association of Colleges and Employers reports that starting offers averaged $48,585 for those with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. However, salaries for car designers varies greatly depending on experience, employer and location.

Some people may be under the impression that almost all of the precision engineering that goes on in the UK is located in the Midlands or the North of England. However, these people may be missing a great opportunity, by not considering Norfolk as an alternative region for precision engineering services.

It is true that the Midlands and the North of England were once the backbone of the engineering sector in this country. These areas had traditionally been extremely biased towards manufacturing, to the extent where a huge percentage of the local workforce in these areas would be employed in this sector. Large engineering factories were widespread in these parts of the country, and therefore most of the country’s engineering focus was centred around them. However, in the last 20 or 30 years all this has changed, and there are various reasons for this. The decline in the industry as a whole, and the changes to working practices that this has brought, has hit large companies hardest. With such a concentration of companies in one or two areas, and with so many engineers moving out of engineering and into other sectors, customers have been forced to look elsewhere for their precision engineering.

One area which has benefited from this is East Anglia, and Norfolk in particular. No longer just a rural area which was entirely devoted to farming, Norfolk has developed into a thriving engineering base. The Oil and Gas industry is very involved in Norfolk, and other sectors such as meat and crop processing, automotive engineering and the chemical industry play a large part in the Norfolk economy. All of these sectors are very heavily biased towards engineering, and require very high levels of precision. This has led to a situation where there are some excellent precision engineering companies in Norfolk, with very highly skilled engineers.

One such company is Machined Precision Components Ltd, based in Watton in Norfolk, who can list a number of customers in these sectors who are locally based. They can also boast customers all over the country who have a requirement for their precision engineering services.

As director Nick Overton explains: “We provide a highly professional service to many sectors of precision engineering, not only in Norfolk, but throughout the country. We place great emphasis on three areas: Firstly we produce a top quality component, we provide it for a competitive price, and we do this with very short lead times.”

In fact their lead times are so short that they sometimes can provide a next day delivery to customers for items which may be produced at very short notice. “We can often receive an order on one day, produce the components on the same day, and then deliver it to the customer the next day” explains Mr Overton. “We can do this for any customer within the UK, wherever they are based, and with no compromise in quality. This flexibility means that we can provide a quality service to customers that they may not be able to find elsewhere”

Precision Engineering in Norfolk continues to go from strength to strength, and sometimes this area of the country can provide a quality of service that cannot be found elsewhere.

Its Monday again and the weekend is over. How was this weekend for you and did you drive a lot? Was it a smooth drive or you faced some problems with the brakes of your car. You must have felt the change if you have followed the DIY tips to change your car’s brake pads.

Brake system form an essential part of an automotive engine. Regular maintenance and check of car brakes is very important in order to ensure your safety on road. There are a number of problems that you might have faced with car brakes. Lets discuss some of the common ones.

Wear of the Brakes – One of the most common problem is the wear of car brakes. This is obvious and natural coz auto brakes are frequently used and do a lot of work. The brake pads of your car are consequently working hard as well. This leads to the wear of the brakes.

Squeaking or Grinding – Excessive usage of brake pads leads to their wearing down. You might notice brake problems like squealing or increased stopping distance. Most of the cars have brake pads with a thin metal tab. When you brake pads wears down, this tab vibrates against the rotor which might damage it.

Sounds of Wear Indicators – At times, the dust of brakes can be the reason behind some kind of sound or squeaking. This is a minor problem with the brake system and you can easy do without it by cleaning the dust. Using a brake cleaner spray is an easy way to do so.

Rotors Might Warp – Often, you yourself must have felt the problem of facing warped rotor or heard you neighbour facing this problem with his new car. Warping of rotor is a common problem which might happen because of overheating. The other reason for warped rotors can be incorrect tightening of the wheel.

Thin Rotor Wrap Easily – I have heard a number of car users facing warped rotors problem with their new cars. This is so because the he new cars have thin rotors that get warped easily. This problem can be rectified by repairing the rotors or by replacing them. Please ensure that you consult an experienced car mechanic before doing so. It is also important that you should understand how brake system work.

Loose Lug Nuts After Repair – This is crucial and can be dangerous also. If you have got your car brakes repaired and the lug nuts are not tightened, it can damage your car brakes. Ensure that the nuts are tightened evenly so that the rotor doesn’t warp. It is important that the care repair mechanic uses a torque wrench.

These were some of the common problems that you often face with your car brakes. A little care and few preventive measures will help you avoid these problems easily. We’ll find out few preventive measures and DIY tips to keep the car brakes and the entire automotive brake system of our car functioning at its best.

Is the engine in your car or late model truck worth rebuilding? Is the time , trouble and expense worth it or should you check one of other alternatives available to you such as a used engine , a full or partial professional rebuild or a factory service like rebuild – many of which now are being done offshore and being shipped back to U.S. automotive consumers ?

The do it yourselfer is faced with these options to evaluate when it comes to the dreaded time of a potential engine overall. Most likely you have gotten a good number of relatively trouble free services from your automotive engine and are now faced with the prospect of an engine overhaul. The decision to replace the engine bloc, piston, connecting rod assemblies as well as crankshaft depends on a number of factors, with the number one consideration being the condition of the engine block. Other considerations are cost, ready access to machine and auto shop facilities, parts availability, time required to complete the project and finally the extent of prior mechanical experience on the part of the do-it-yourselfer home auto mechanic.

Next consider the value of the vehicle. It has turned out that frequently the total end cost of the parts required to complete the task of rebuilding the engine is greater and more than the actual value of the vehicle. It can be said that often ego and pride of ownership gets in the way of a fair and true evaluation of the situation, its costs and reasonable conclusions on the suitability of the project at all. As a case in point one proud owner of what might be considered a truck that was long past its prime and in great need of repair convinced himself that expensive repairs were in order by himself when a quick tour of local area junkyards should of convinced that the truck itself could be replaced by any of the similar vehicles that were laying about these auto parts recycling facilities.

In such situations where the cost for a full engine overhaul is greater than the cost of a full and proper engine rebuild one option to consider is a used engine from one of above auto junk yards. True the engine may not have the full engine life of a rebuilt engine but there may be more than enough lifespan in one of these replacements which come at a much lower cost and may indeed outlive the body components and lifespan of the vehicle itself. In addition most of the professional auto parts recycling shops will both have tested and warranty the engine for a reasonable initial automobile test and evaluation time period.

It can be said that the vehicle may seem to have great value to you. The question to ask is “If I sink in this money and time of a full rebuilt engine will anyone pay me more for my vehicle or if I sell this vehicle will I get my money back?” The answer is usually “Probably not”. However it can be said that devil you know is better than the devil you do not. You will have a vehicle whose history and maintenance background is well known to you. You will know the quirks and characteristics of the vehicle – of what to expect and what repairs as well are upcoming. Thus said sinking money and time into rebuilding your engine or engine block may make good sense to you overall in the end.

www.hiperformer.com gives a unique warranty of 7 years or 100,000 miles on their remanufactured engines. Since their rebuilt engines are of extremely high quality customers can purchase them with great confidence. Most of the parts in their rebuilt engines are new, so no old parts (exceptions are always there) are used. They buy the new parts from original manufacturers themselves. There remanufactured engines meet or exceed industry specifications. Since their engines are shipped in bulk, you can get a discount on the freight. Also, goods are shipped with utmost care and by the best carriers in the world. Their manufacturing processes are one of the best in the industry and hence the failure rate of their engines is one of the lowest in the world that is about 1.6% only.

www.hiperformer.com has been in the rebuilt engine industry for about thirty years now. So they are extremely reputed and reliable. In addition, their engines are long block engines, which are built to last and not just replace. Their engines are packed in plastic, strapped to a palette and secure it in a cardboard box before shipping them out. Shipping charges are not included in the price. They are separately applicable. They accept Master Card, Visa, American Express credit cards and Money order as well as Cashier’s Cheque. Their delivery time varies from place to place. If you are on the East coast of the U.S. then it is 7-10 days while for the West coast it is 3-5 days. They conduct their business only on working days.

Since you give your details to them while placing an order, you must worry about the security aspect of the website. However, you need not be worried. The information given by you is used only for business purposes and nothing else. They are the largest sellers of rebuilt engines in the U.S. They sell about 5000 engines per year. In addition to automotive engines they also sell marine engines. Their pricing is the lowest compared to that of their competitors. In addition, their staff is extremely skilled and experienced. Therefore, nothing can go wrong during the process of remanufacturing. They also provide consultation, advice, solutions, and alternatives for those who are need, regarding their vehicles.

They aim towards innovation and rethinking of processes as an organization. They believe in addressing each and every customer query. In addition, they want to benefit the environment through remanufacturing and reuse. They want to make sustainable goods so that their goods do not get damaged easily and a lot of toxic junk is not created. So their services are aimed at benefitting the environment too and not just their customers. If every automotive manufacturing company started thinking like this then the world would be a less polluted place to live in. They provide automotive engines of companies like Acura, Chevy, BMW, Audi, Eagle, Dodge, Hyundai, International, Land rover, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mercury, Opel, Plymouth, Toyota, Suzuki, Volkswagen, Jeep, Lincoln, GMC, Infiniti, Ford, Isuzu, Nissan, MG, Honda, Buick, Hummer, Saab, Sterling, Renault and many more.

We do what the “other guys” do and then some. From consulting on shipment challenges to tracking packages, no job is too big, and no detail is too small. Our customers enjoy a level of personalized customer service not often seen in today’s business climate.

Visit the website today to get your FREE online rate quote in minutes: www.EngineShipping.com

There are several freight brokers out there that will connect you to a Freight Company of which they have set up rates with. These rates are based on the number of business they have or can legitimately project to deliver to that Freight Company and the amount of money they make on top of those rates.

However, 95% of all freight brokers are a company established just for the purpose of making money offering a connection to Freight Companies. They do not back up their services with years of knowledge in the automotive industry themselves. There is no blame to the brokers for establishing a company to offer this connection and without them you would have very limited options. And if your options were limited it would cause rates to be a lot higher because the small amount of brokers that did exist could set the rates themselves. So having the competition out there does allow for rates to be stabilized a little, however, the truth still exists that you are paying for a middle man between you and the Freight Company.

So if you are going to pay for a middle man you should make sure you can trust that company to deliver every time. It’s the same concept when you look to hire a Real Estate Agent, a Financial Advisor or a Stock Broker because if you could honestly do what they do there wouldn’t be any need for them.

So if you want to be able to say, “I know a guy” or know of a shipping/freight broker that has over 20 years of experience in the automotive, remanufactured engines and even racing industry we would suggest you check out EngineShipping.com for your next rate quote. EngineShipping.com simply offers the lowest rates compared to everyone else, including FreightQuote.

How EngineShipping.com is able to do this is actually quite simple, based on two main factors.

1. Behind EngineShipping.com is a collection of companies that have been in the industry for over 20 years. We have shipped more engines and transmissions than everyone else put together. So we already get the lowest rates you could possibly receive from an elite selection of the top freight companies that you can count on. Which is great because if we trust in using them over and over again, you can rest assured that you can trust in them too. The key to these rates are the years of shipping with these companies that has allowed us to establish rates that nobody else can touch.

2. There is no need to be greedy! EngineShipping.com was not set up to make a whole bunch of other people rich. It was established to make what our companies already need more automated, with one source to get it from. Obviously in order to offer this to the public or to individuals that are buying and need shipping as well as other company owners that want to offer shipping, we are going to charge a little more than our cost. Not too much where it puts us in the same high priced league as all the other brokers, but enough to cover the overhead to extend the lower rates onto others and give an excellent customer service.

              The Engine

Technically speaking, your car’s engine is not a motor, although everyone uses the two words interchangeably. A “motor”converts electrical energy into mechanical work such as the ecm and starter motor that cranks your engine. An “engine,” on the other hand, is a machine that converts heat energy into mechanical work. Your engine ecm does this by forcing the engine to burn gasoline inside its combustion chambers. When gasoline and air are mixed together in the right proportions (parts of air to one part gasoline is considered ideal) and ignited by a spark, the mixture explodes, creating tremendous heat and pressure. Although, combustion occurs in a split second, the ecm insures it does so in a controlled manner. When the spark ignites the mixture, a “flame front” sweeps out from the point of ignition like a rapidly expanding balloon until all the fuel mixture is consumed. This causes a sharp rise in cylinder pressure, and ecm performance which pushes the piston down and turns the crankshaft. Thus, heat energy is transformed into useful mechanical work to power your car down the road. Pressing down on the accelerator pedal opens up the engine throttle, which allows more air and fuel to be drawn into the engine. This increases the density of the fuel mixture in each of the engine’s cylinders, which in turn increases the intensity of cylinder pressures when the mixture is ignited. As a result, the engine ecm develops more power, allowing it to either run faster or work harder, depending on the load. Let off on the accelerator pedal and the amount of air and fuel are decreased. Cylinder pressures drops and the engine ecm slows down.

In a way, you can think of an internal combustion engine as an air pump. The ecm sends signals to the throttle which allows it to pump more air through itself, and the greater the volume of air (and fuel, the greater the ecm output. That’s why bigger engines require a high performance ecm to produce more horsepower than smaller ones. They have a greater pumping capacity. Unfortunately, internal combustion engines are not very efficient when it comes to making good use of the heat energy produced by combustion. Only about a third of the heat energy is actually used to drive the vehicle. Nearly a third is lost when the hot exhaust gases exit
out the tailpipe. By the time the piston reaches the lower limit of its travel. cylinder
pressure has dropped considerably from its peak which occurred shortly after ignition.
The engine ecm has gotten all it can from the expanding combustion gases, yet heat energy remains which must now be dumped out the exhaust so the cylinder can repeat the process over again with a fresh charge of air and fuel Another 20 to 25 percent of the heat produced during combustion is lost to the cooling system.

As the engine burns fuel. It begins to heat up. Were it not for the cooling system,
the engine ecm would continue to build up heat until it eventually melted and destroyed the ecm. So heat loss through this path is unavoidable. Another form of loss is overcoming internal friction: piston rings rubbing against the cylinders’,
cam lobes rubbing against their lifters; valves sliding up and down in their valve
guides; the crankshaft turning in its bearings; etc. Yet frictional losses aren’t as great as you might imagine. It’s only about 5 to 8 percent for most engines. Even so, it’s another loss that comes out of the useful work produced by combustion.
A percentage of the engine’s remaining power is also required to drive “parasitic” accessories such as the water pump, alternator, power steering pump, ecm and air conditioning compressor. There are also frictional losses in the engine ecm, transmission, drivetrain, and tires.
